A standard Trial Instructional Flight (referred to as a TIF) in a microlight consists of a twenty minute flight around the local area, the aim of which is to familiarise the student with the handling and safety aspects of microlight flying. Your instructor will offer you the opportunity to take the controls after demonstrating the basic skills.

Standard Trial Flight from $180 for 20 mins.
Extended Trial Flight from $270 for 35 mins.

All equipment supplied. Vouchers available.

10 minute pre-flight briefing applicable to all Trial Instructional Flights.

Your flight will take place at the Airfield at Gawler, and will be in one of the latest Aeroprakt aircraft. These aircraft have been fully certified by CASA and meet all the saftey requirements to conduct pilot training.

Some people take a Trial Flight to see if this is a sport that they could take part in, and others simply for the thrill of having flown in one.

So no matter what your reasons for wanting a Trial Flight, Please contact us and let us help organise that next step.

The Next Step

To many, a trial instructional flight is their first step towards gaining their Pilot Certificate (license) and opening up a whole new lifestyle of flying adventures and regular flying with fellow pilots and friends. To others the trial flight is a once off experience, a taste of something a little different and another activity to tick off the must do list. Either way the flight is structured to give the participant both a unique one off experience and a sound base upon which to build further flying lessons. Having enjoyed your first flight and wishing to continue please ask your instructor for a handout about the next step.

"Light Sport Aviation" can safely guide you through an approved, efficient training programme aimed at teaching you the knowledge and skills needed to gain your Pilot Certificate (license). The average person with no previous flying experience should expect to complete some 10 to 15 hours of actual in-flight tuition to reach solo standard. Your flying first lesson after your T.I.F. will be conducted, with YOU in the front seat as Pilot in command !

$450 for 3 hours in my aircraft
$450 for 4 hours in your aircraft

With any flying activities, you must be part of an association. With the Recreational Aircraft of Australia (RAAus), we are allowed to do your first three lessons without joining. This is so, after this point, you will have a good idea whether to continue with your flying or not.

The fee for joining the RAAus is $210 per year.

Theory Pack:

When you have completed your first lesson in the front seat as Pilot in command, you will be presented with your FREE handout notes in a folder.

These should be read progressively through the course of your learning to fly.

Extra theory publications are essential to complete your study program and are available to purchase at the school.

Aircraft type:

You will be instructed in the latest Aeroprakt aircraft.

Not all aircraft are created equal. Within the first three training hours you will need to make a commitment on what aircraft will suit your needs, so that your training can be suitably tailored to suit YOU. This will maximise your safety and enjoyment through your flying future.
